[singlepic id=1 w=160 h=120 mode=web20 float=left]Meine erste Webseite ging bereits 1997 mit vielen blinkenden Bildchen und schlechtem HTML ins Netz. 2000 folgte eine weitere über mein Praktikum in New York. Nachdem die ersten Seiten bei einem werbefinanzierten Anbieter kostenfrei betrieben wurden, kaufte ich mir 2003 eine eigene Domain. Dort entstand meine dritte und erste „wirklich eigene“ Homepage. Im Jahr 2006 erstellte ich unter einer weiteren Domain eine kleine Webseite für meine freiberufliche Tätigkeit als Berater/Controller. Doch wirklich erwähnenswert ist erst der im Sommer 2007 durchgeführte Relaunch meiner privaten Webseite.

Durch den Wechsel in das Team New Media International sah ich mich veranlasst, auch meine angestaubte Webseite zu modernisieren. Bisher „nur“ aktiver Internet-User mit ein paar grundlegenden HTML-Kenntnissen, lernte ich nun sehr viel über modernes Webdesign. Meine Kollegen empfahlen mir WordPress, mit dem ich schnell einen modernen Blog starten konnte. Inzwischen kenne ich mich mit WordPress recht gut aus, und dank sogenannter PlugIns sind viele Funktionen „großer“ Webseiten verfügbar.

My first website went online with bad HTML and lot of animated GIF-pictures in 1997 already. 2000 I launched another one about my internship at the Wall Street in New York. These two homepages were (and still are) hosted by Angelfire (a advertising finance free hosting service). In 2003 I bought my own domain. Here I launched my first „really own“ homepage. In 2006 I started a small website under another domain for my freelance work as consultant/controller. But worth mentioning is only the relaunch of my private homeage in summer 2007.

Since I changed from the print to the online business in the team of New Media International I felt I have to relaunch my old and „rusty“ page. Until now I was only a „heavy user“, in my new job I learned a lot about webdesign. My colleagues recommended WordPress, which makes modern webblogging easy. In the meantime I know WordPress quite well, and thanks to several great plugins many features of „big sites“ are available on my blog as well.

[singlepic id=12 w=400 h=120 mode=web20 float=center]Im Sommer 2007 erwarb Axel Springer Schweiz AG die Amiado AG. Diese betreibt seit 1998 die Webseite students.ch, dem führenden Studentenportal in der Schweiz. Zu dieser Zeit war das Onlinegeschäft von Springer in der Schweiz kaum nennenswert. Auf den ersten Blick schien dieser Kauf kaum in das damalige Print-Portfolio (vor allem Wirtschafts- und Fachtitel) zu passen. Uns überzeugten das Konzept, die erreichten Zahlen und vor allem das Team. Hier erwarteten wir viel Potenzial. In diesem Projekt war ich an den Managementgesprächen und der Due Diligence sowie der Unternehmensbewertung und der Vorbereitung des Vorstandsbeschlusses beteiligt. The Amiado AG was acquired by Axel Springer Schweiz AG in summer 2007. The company has been operating the website students.ch since 1998, the leading Swiss student portal. At this time the Swiss online business of Springer was not worth mentioning. At a quick view this transaction seemed not to fit in the Swiss portfolio which consisted mostly of print business titles. What convinced us was the concept, the financial track record and most, the team itself. Here we expected a huge potencial. In this project I was involved in the management discussions and the due diligence as well as the company valuation and the preparation of the decision of the German board of Axel Springer AG.

And our expectations were even topped: the team of students.ch gave important impulses and valuable input for the extension of the AS online-portfolio (e.g. www.handelszeitung.ch).

Des weiteren wurde mit der Internationalisierung auch das eigene Produkt weiter ausgebaut, und durch die spätere Akquisition von www.usgang.chwww.partyguide.ch entstand das drittgrößte Schweizer Onlinenetzwerk. und Additionally, with the internationalization the own portfolio was extended as well.
